The Cedar Rapids City Council generally meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, except toward the end of the year, when the meetings are shifted to the first and third Tuesdays to avoid conflicts with holidays. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers on the third floor of City Hall, the former federal courthouse at 101 First Street SE. Parking is available on nearby streets, including metered spots on 1st Street and the 1st and 2nd Avenue bridges, or in public downtown parking ramps. The public comment period begins after the public hearings are held. The meeting on the 2nd Tuesday meets at noon and the meeting on the 4th Tuesday meets at 4pm.
